Advanced EMT or EMT-Intermediate possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes consistent with the expectations of the public and professions. EMT-I recognize that they are an essential component of the continuum of care and serve as a link for emergency patients to acute care resources.
EMT-I have completed the requirements for an EMT-Basic. They are also instructed in more advanced medical procedures, such as administering intravenous fluids and some medications.
This course is designed to teach advanced patient assessment skills, advanced airway management skills, intravenous therapy, recognition of cardiac dysrhythmias, recognition and treatment of medical emergencies. The program is four months of classroom and skills. Successful students will be eligible to sit for the National Registry AEMT Written and Practical Exam.
Prerequisite: Current EMT certification and current CPR certification (Healthcare provider or equivalent).

Healthcare Titer Package - prices may vary based on immunizations needed for student
Tdap - needed once every 10 years
TB Test - needed every year and must cover the time of hospital clinicals
Flu Vaccine - needed during flu season
Drug screening test – urine 10 panel - $20 (this is done during classtime)
EMS Uniform - $25 - School Shirt, Additional items needed: Black Pants, Black Shoes, Black Belt and Safety Vest (cost dependent on items chosen by student)
National Registry/Testing Center Fee - $115 (Paid with application to NR)
